From Picture to Sign

Around 3200 BCE a scribe drew an ox by drawing an ox. Drag the century slider and watch that little picture turn on its side, lose strokes, and collapse into a cluster of wedges — the writing we call cuneiform. Grab the stylus and press your own wedges into the clay as you go.
