Rosetta Decoder
Two royal cartouches spell names you already know from the Greek register — Ptolemy and Cleopatra. Drag a sound tile onto a glyph to guess its value; every correct match locks that sign in everywhere and quietly decodes the rest of the stone, exactly the way Champollion cracked the script in 1822.

What to try
- The lion glyph sits in both Ptolemy and Cleopatra. If it is L in one name, what must it be in the other?
- Which single glyph, once solved, reveals the most words elsewhere on the stone?
- Turn off the Greek register. Can you still bootstrap an alphabet using only the overlap between the two cartouches?
- Two tiles in the tray never fit anywhere. Why would a real decipherer expect sounds that the Greek names simply do not contain?
- After solving M, I, S and R the word MIṢR appears — the Egyptians' own name for Egypt. What does it tell you that a hidden word was readable all along?
